This is a picture of the Fort after the Confederates took control.  A confederate flag is flying in the place of  Fort Sumter's and everything has been blown to rubble. The walls were smashed to bits.  It is amazing that nobody was killed during the 34 hour bombardment.  The union fired about 5,000 shells while the confederate fired a smashing 15,000 shells.  Four horses were killed and one confederate died from a cannon backfiring. The on Union injury was at the confederate 100 shot salute to "America." Hayden and Christian.
