Kids In Military

On the left is a young drummer boy, who is african american. Most african American drummer boys, were free slaves that had nothing else to do. So they sacrificed their lives in the war. They still sufferred racial discrimination during the war.

On the left is a drummer boy. Although he is very young, he is one of the older boys. About 16. His clothes are very worn out and dirty. Most drummer boys had little to none clothing.

This boy on the left is not a drummer boy, he is a soldier in the Civil War. Kids in the Military died often. They were so young, that when they got injured, they would react differently then older soldiers. They were very frightened, and as most young children would be, they would get homesick and scared very easily.

Please add more information. What role did they play in the Civil War?
