abraham lincoln

The story starts in 1854 when Lincoln was losing interest in politics. In that year, congress passed the Kansas-Nebraska act. Lincoln became interested in politics again. Stephen A. Douglas was the author of the act. He thought it would help him become president. In October 1854, Stephen A. Douglas made a speech to defend the Kansas-Nebraska act. Lincoln said he would answer to his speech the next night.

Douglas talked about slavery as a political issue. To Lincoln slavery was a political and moral issue.

This is a nice picture of Abraham Lincoln:

There were 3 other candidates so when people voted the votes were split and Lincoln was the only republican candidate so the republican votes weren’t split 3 ways, they were all votes for Lincoln.

Lincoln was a very respected man because in writing the emancipation proclimation, he freed the slaves. Today he is still respected alot and here's a picture of teh lincoln memorial.

Lincoln is such a respected man, people pretend to be him, thinking they'll ever be as cool as he is.

Lincoln with some of his colleagues.
