This is another picture from earlier.these are poor white miners. I posted this earlier an the other website and am going to build on it.
Like I said earlier, many miners came back empty handed. though there was lots of gold in the river. Building on my last post, lots of Chinese where celebrating openly whenever they found gold(which they thought was OK, because it would be fine in their country). This really made the white-miners angry because the immigrants were finding more gold then they were, and they thought the didn't have a right to be there anyway! e racism because worse, and every now and then confrontations broke out. This slowed down the immigration because the new immigrants began to realize California was not as safe as they thought. The whole problem was these things mixed: jealousy, pride, and greed. Most of the Americans hoped that the Chinese would go back to china when the gold rush was over, but they didn't
