Medicine during the civil war

Here are several links to websites that I have found regarding Medicine and amputations during the civil war. Many of these links support the idea that the surgeries back then were not a primitive as people normally think, but also say that these experiences were traumatizing and terrible to all involved. Some of these have a lot of pictures, including pictures of Amputation kits and surgical tools. I recommend that you look at these links.
